Georgia has become a center for film and television productions over the past 40+ years with tax incentives and stunning locations creating the perfect storm for productions.

Hall County has been part of the Georgia Film Office’s Camera Ready program since its inception. All 159 counties in the state are now enrolled and have a designated Camera Ready Representative who assists location managers and film scouts with permitting their productions at locations across the state.

With over fifty productions filmed in Hall County on and around the shores of Lake Lanier, it’s easy to see the Georgia Film Tax Credit is working for our community.

The Georgia Entertainment Industry Investment Act has helped make Georgia a hub for accomplished producers, award-winning actors and cutting-edge film technology. Filmmakers can enjoy unbridled artistic freedom with the state’s vast and comprehensive film infrastructure, and aspiring actors can make their names known through a variety of immersive hands-on educational programs. The film industry has brought as much as $4 billion a year to the Georgia economy and created countless jobs in the process.

Over the years there have been dozens of film locations on and around Lake Lanier. Most of those locations are on private property, places like private homes for example and are not readily accessible to the public.

Some locations are on public property or at businesses where film fans are welcome. We’ve compiled a short list of easily accessible locations where projects have filmed in Hall County, Georgia.

Dine at one of the restaurants used for the Netflix series Ozark, swim at the park where Arnold Schwarzenegger dove into Lake Lanier for the movie Sabotage, stay at the resort hotel where wedding guests gathered for Table 19.
