Richard and Bonnie LeCain established Poor Richard’s Restaurant in April 1977. Starting out there were 60 seats with Bonnie working as hostess and Richard in the kitchen. In 1978 the basement area opened which increased seating to 140 seats. The success of the restaurant has relied heavily on listening to the needs and suggestions of the guests over the years and implementing changes as needed.
In 1983 Richard and Bonnie purchased the property and the building next door, which was then attached to the original structure. This increased seating to 220 seats. The last addition, a 24 seat patio, was completed in 2005. Poor Richard’s is now proudly serving fourth generation guests.
